Correction Point is an important exhibition, where we experience artist Joanna O’Toole collaborating with her husband Warwick O’Toole from Maker Furniture, for the first time. They will join forces from idea, to process and design fabrication for exhibition with Curve Gallery in August. Exploring playful design and sculpture, Correction Point features considered creative objects with complex narratives found within simple forms.

Joanna O’Toole is a prize-winning contemporary sculptor with a background in printmaking and painting, completing a degree in Fine Arts and Design at RMIT University of Melbourne and more recently she studied Sculpture, completing an Advanced Diploma of Fine Art at Newcastle Art School. Joanna has been selected and has won several prizes for her sculpture, including Sculpture in the Vineyards Artist Residency Award, Ford Grant Scholarship and Gosford Art Prize Booth Sculpture Award.

Warwick O’Toole has been working with timber fabrication in furniture design for over 30 years. Passionate about design, sustainability, quality and function he has worked for some of Australia’s high-end product designers, before establishing his own business, Maker Furniture in 2002.
